As I reflect on the past week, there are so many emotions on my heart. Grief over the goodbyes that were said. Gratitude over how everything has fallen into place. Anticipation over the 20-hour journey ahead with a 10-yo and 2-yo. Relief that our time of transition is almost behind us. Excitement over the work that is to begin. And so on...
The time we've spent with friends and family in the month of July has been priceless. Truly, it was a gift that we will cherish in our hearts for a LOOOOONG time! We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support that our family members and friends showed us through opening their homes (and beds), preparing delicious meals and goodies, balancing our crazy schedules, loving on us and the kiddos, and the list goes on and on. Thank you.
Also, thank you to each one of you who has also taken steps to support us through prayer, one-time or monthly giving, etc. Your support not only helps us focus on the work ahead of us, but it also demonstrates your belief in this calling and the work that we are going to do. So, thank you.
As we look ahead, below are some initial prayer requests that come to mind:
Travel logistics - Transportation of our large cargo load to/from the airport. Flight schedules to remain on time. Patience as we navigate long lines through security at multiple destinations. Peace and self-control as we keep Elise occupied (and happy!) for the flight durations (14-hrs and 4-hrs).
Pace - While we are excited to get started and put our hands to work, we also know it is important to settle our family first and establish a typical daily routine. All of this will take time!
Rental property - Africa Freedom Mission (AFM) has graciously allowed us to stay in their mission team housing as long as needed, but our hope is to find something for our family within the first few weeks. That way, we can continue to settle in and officially unpack our belongings.
On a related note, we are still actively raising support. Right now, we are essentially 45% funded for our first year in Zambia - hooray. For more information on how to join our support team, please check out our CTEN page. All gifts are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated!

Blessings, dear friends,
