Right now, Zambia is in the midst of a severe (!) drought, which is limiting power availability and escalating food/water prices.
Depending on where you live in Zambia, you may experience power in your home for up to 2 hours every 3-4 days. Some people may go as long as a week (or more) before the power comes on.
As you can imagine, there is extreme stress and low morale on the streets and in the compounds where water is only accessible via power. Every day, we see women with buckets and containers lined up along the street, desperately seeking water for their families.
Based on the current conditions, the power situation isn't expected to improve for many months, so we expect it to worsen before it improves.
Please pray for resiliency and hope for the people of Zambia, for rain in the coming months, and for us to continue helping in any way we can. May Christ be glorified!
