Our house sold - and we are willingly (and joyfully) homeless for the foreseeable future.
One week ago, we closed on the sale of our Georgia home. It was an extremely bittersweet experience for me…
I felt joyful because the Lord gave us a quick sale and an excited buyer, and I also felt grief because it was (selfishly) my dream home and my place of comfort and security.
In that experience, I saw how God is refining me. As He reminded me, that home was never really mine, it was always His - He just provided us the opportunity to live there. My dreams and desires are for greater things than simply the home I live in - they are to die to my flesh and surrender to Him - to fulfill His calling on our lives and store up our treasures in heaven!
As our family enters this new period of transition and transiency, my prayer is that the Lord will continue to refine me in preparation for Zambia. I woke up today with a song of praise on my lips and a peace in my heart - He is faithful to carry us through each stage in the journey!
May we continue to follow His leading in our final steps toward departing for Lusaka, Zambia.
